CCMA: China's excavator sales surge 36% YoY in May

China’s sales of excavators to both domestic and overseas customers continued racing ahead in May, jumping by a large 36.2% on year to total 24,794 units, according to the latest data released by the China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA).

Specifically, China's excavator sales in the domestic market swelled by 38.6% on year to 11,628 units last month. In parallel, excavator exports also stayed robust, with the volume rising 34.2% on year to 13,166 units. China's domestic construction machinery market is gradually recovering, driven by demand from new infrastructure projects and the need for older equipment with low fuel efficiency
