NBS: China's power output rises 4.2% YoY in May

Coal Supply
The total output of electricity that China generated from all energy sources in May rose 4.2% year on year to 784.3 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on June 16.
Hydropower remained the strongest-performing major power source during the month. Output increased 13% on year, following growth of 12.2% in April and 10.8% in March.     The sustained expansion was mainly supported by improving water inflows and rising reservoir levels across major river basins as China gradually entered its peak flood
