CATL has secured a total of 5.4 GWh in energy storage system orders. In detail, it has entered into a cooperation with Finnish company Merus Power to deploy approximately 3 GWh of energy storage systems in the Nordic region. And it has reached an agreement with Edify Energy to supply 2.4 GWh of battery energy storage systems for its Smoky Creek and Guthrie's Gap projects in Australia.
2.4 GWh Energy Storage System Order in Australia
Recently, CATL announced that it will supply a total of 2.4 GWh of energy storage systems for the Smoky Creek and Guthrie's Gap solar-plus-storage projects under Australian renewable energy developer Edify Energy. The two projects together form a large-scale hybrid solar-plus-storage power plant with a total capacity of 600 MW, equipped with 720 MWp of solar generation facilities and a 600 MW/2,400 MWh large-scale energy storage system. The project has already secured financing, and DT Infrastructure has been awarded the EPC contract. It is scheduled to be completed and commissioned in 2028.
3 GWh Energy Storage System Order in Finland
On June 3, CATL signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Finnish energy storage system integrator Merus Power to deliver approximately 3 GWh of energy storage system solutions to the Nordic market, further deepening their collaboration in the European energy storage sector. Under the agreement, the cooperation focuses on the development and delivery of energy storage projects primarily in the Nordic region. Merus Power stated that this agreement represents an upgrade from their previous three-year partnership, during which Merus Power had already deployed approximately 500 MWh of energy storage projects in the Nordic region using CATL's battery technology.
