Last week, e-user demand remains weak, the payables for LCO (lithium cobalt oxide) black mass declined. The cobalt payables for battery black mass dropped from around 78% to 76%, while that for electrode foil black mass fell from 81% to 80%.The payables for NMC (nickel-manganese-cobalt) black mass held steady, with battery black mass quoted at approximately 74% and electrode foil black mass at around 78%.Amid a rebound in lithium carbonate prices, spot prices for NMC and LFP (lithium iron phosphate) black mass increased. Spot prices for LCO black mass saw only minor fluctuations.Demand for high-cobalt and pure-cobalt black mass is sluggish, and the payables are expected to remain under pressure next week. Market expectations of improved demand for NMC materials in the second half of the year could provide support for NMC black mass demand. Meanwhile, the payables for LFP black mass continues to be driven primarily by lithium carbonate price movements.
