GACC: China's June coal imports surge 29.5% YoY

China imported 42.78 million tonnes of coal in June, up 29.5% year on year and 28.6% from the month before, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) on July 14.

The sharp rebound marked a decisive reversal from the preceding two months, when imports had fallen on year – down 7.7% in May and 12.5% in April. June's volume was the highest monthly total since at least the start of this year. The surge pushed first-half cumulative imports to 225.40
