Baltic dry index rises for 4th day to near two-week high

The Baltic Exchange's main sea freight index, a key benchmark for global dry bulk shipping rates, advanced for a fourth consecutive session on August 25, rising to its highest level since August 12. The overall index gained 44 points, or 1.5%, from the previous session to settle at 2,926 points.

The Capesize index, which tracks vessels typically hauling 150,000-tonne cargoes such as iron ore and coal, was the primary driver of the broader benchmark's upward momentum. It advanced by 92 points, or 2%, on day to finish at 4,735 points on Tuesday. The increase mainly reflected growing iron ore shipping
