India's July coal output sinks to 10-month low amid monsoon disruptions

India's coal production fell 12.8% on month to 69.82 million tonnes in July, marking the lowest monthly level since September 2025, according to the latest data from the country's Ministry of Coal.
The sequential on-month drop was largely attributable to heavy monsoon rainfall, which severely hampered both open-pit mining activities and coal logistics – including handling and rail shipments – across key production hubs.   Despite the seasonal slowdown, July output still posted a robust 7.65% on-year increase, underscoring the country's continued drive
