Philippines drafts policy to unlock up to 5 GW of stalled coal power capacity

The Philippines' Department of Energy (DOE) is fast-tracking a policy aimed at unlocking up to 5 gigawatts (GW) of delayed coal-fired power generation capacity, as aging and frequently derated power plants increasingly strain the country's electricity supply, according to local media reports.
