Canada's coal output drops 4% MoM in June

Canada's production of coal for all uses totaled 2.98 million tonnes in June, down 4.1% from May and 9% from the previous year, according to the latest data from Statistics Canada.

Bituminous coal (including coking and thermal coal types) accounted for 85% of the total output at 2.54 million tonnes in June, down 2.8% on month and 8.8% on year, the data showed. Over the first half of this year, Canada's output of coal for all uses totaled 18.66 million tonnes,
