On September 15, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that in August, the value-added of industrial enterprises above designated size nationwide grew by 5.2% year on year, 0.7% faster than the previous month, and rose 0.54% month on month. By major sector, the value-added of mining declined by 1.4% YoY, manufacturing grew by 6.1%, and the production and supply of electricity, heat, gas and water grew by 4.9%.
The value-added of the equipment manufacturing industry grew by 12.1% YoY, and that of the high-tech manufacturing industry grew by 16.7%, outpacing the value-added of all industrial enterprises above designated size by 6.9% and 11.5% respectively.
By product, the output of lithium-ion batteries, industrial robots and 3D printing equipment increased by 57.2%, 34.6% and 29.9% YoY, respectively. From January to August, the value-added of industrial enterprises above designated size nationwide grew by 5.3% year on year.
