NBS: China's Jan-Aug FAI drops 7.2%, property investment slump widens to 19.9%

China’s fixed asset investment (FAI) totaled Yuan 29.31 trillion ($4.36 trillion) in the first eight months of this year, logging a larger on-year drop of 7.2% as compared with the 6.7% decline for January-July, according to the latest release from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on September 15.

Within the total, the cumulative funding for the country's property sector over the first eight months registered Yuan 4.8 trillion, with the on-year slump widening to 19.9% from the 19.2% for the first seven months of this year.
