Vietnam's coal imports hit a six-month low in August

Vietnam's coal imports fell sharply in August, hitting their lowest level since February this year, according to preliminary statistics from Vietnam Customs.

The country imported 5.08 million tonnes of coal during the month, marking an 18.1% on-year increase but a 30.4% on-month decline. The value of coal imports also fell sharply, decreasing 25.8% from July while surging 91.2% on year to around $702 million, the Customs data showed. This put the average import
