On the evening of the 22nd, Shanshan Co., Ltd. announced in a filing that it plans to invest in and construct an integrated base project with an annual output of 150,000 tonnes of lithium-ion battery anode materials in Qingshan District, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia, with a total investment of approximately Yuan 5.106 billion.
According to the project design, the base project will establish an integrated production capacity of 150,000 tonnes per year of lithium-ion battery anode materials. It will also be equipped with an additional 50,000 tonnes per year of graphitization capacity to fill the graphitization gap at the Jiuyuan plant. The announcement stated that once the project is completed and put into operation, it will create capacity synergies with the company's existing Qingshan and Jiuyuan plants, expand its existing product flow routes, improve overall operational efficiency, and strengthen its integrated cost advantages.
According to the announcement, the project has a construction period of 17 months and is scheduled to commence in March 2027 and be completed in July 2028. The investing entity is Inner Mongolia Shanshan Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the company. The project will be funded by its own funds and self-raised funds.
