FLASH: Over 7,050 Chinese infrastructure projects start construction in May

In May, China saw a total of 7,054 construction projects commence construction, down by 22.7% on month, Mysteel's survey showed. These infrastructure projects attracted a total investment of Yuan 4.11 trillion ($578.36 billion), up 46.3% on month. And during the first five months of this year, some Yuan 29.65 trillion had been injected into China's infrastructure projects.

For May alone, there were two provinces whose investment in infrastructure construction exceeded Yuan 1 trillion – Henan in North China and Hubei in Central China, while Guangdong and Fujian in southern China, and Hebei and Tianjin in northern China injected over Yuan 100 billion into construction of infrastructure
