China, India boost renewable energy production in 2024

China's electricity generation from renewable energy sources including wind, solar, hydro and biomass totalled 3.46 trillion kilowatt hours (kWh) in 2024, higher by 19% compared with the year before, according to new data released by the country's National Energy Administration (NEA) in late January.
