GACC: China's thermal coal imports slump 17% YoY in May

China's imports of thermal coal tumbled 16.7% on year to 27.34 million tonnes in May, according to the General Administration of Customs (GACC). The figure represented the fourth straight month of year-on-year declines, primarily led by a substantial fall from China's top supplier, Indonesia.

However, May's imports were higher by a tiny 0.6% compared with the 27.17 million tonnes in April, the GACC data also showed.
