GACC: China's coking coal imports hit intra-year high in Aug

China's coking coal imports from all sources notched an intra-year high of 10.16 million tonnes in August, presenting a firm on-month rise of 5.6%, though the volume was still 5% lower than the year-ago level, the latest data from the General Administration of Customs show.

The value of August imports rose to $876.4 million, up by 8.9% from July. This translated to an average import price of $86.2/tonne, $2.6/t higher than that of the previous month, Mysteel Global calculated based on the Customs data.
