WEEKLY: China's EAF production recovers, losses remain large

Run rates at Chinese electric-arc-furnace (EAF) steel producers rebounded during the past week as many mini-mills resumed normal operations from maintenance stoppages, Mysteel's latest survey showed.
During November 7-13, the average capacity utilization rate among the 90 independent EAF steel producers under Mysteel's regular tracking reversed the prior week's drop and rose by 2.3 percentage points on week to reach 53.2%, while their average operational rate also gained 1.1 percentage points to 68.1%.   In the latest
