On November 27, the price of electrolytic cobalt moved down Yuan 750/t to Yuan 397,500-415,000/tonne from the previous trading day. Moreover, the prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride remained unchanged at Yuan 86,000-93,000/tonne and 103,000-110,000/tonne respectively. Downstream demand has been relatively muted during this week, primarily due to persistently high prices of cobalt raw materials. With cobalt salt smelters unable to significantly reduce prices, cobalt sulfate offers have stayed high. Most downstream consumers currently hold short-term inventory and are primarily conducting market inquiries, making purchases selectively at lower prices. This has intensified sales pressure on cobalt salt producers, resulting in a market stalemate between buyers and sellers. The fundamental supply tightness of raw materials remains unchanged, and cobalt sulfate retains potential for long-term upward movement, though prices have recently stabilized.
