On March 27, the price of electrolytic cobalt moved up Yuan 500/tonne to Yuan 425,136-427,591/tonne from the previous trading day. Moreover, the prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride continued to remain unchanged at Yuan 95,000/t-98,000/t and 115,000-120,000/t respectively.Last week, trading activity in the cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride market was subdued. Driven by higher cobalt payables for MHP, production costs remained elevated, with offers holding above Yuan 96,000/tonne. Inquiries from downstream buyers decreased, accompanied by weak purchasing sentiment. Market transactions were concluded in the range of Yuan 92,00094,000/tonne. The wide price spread was mainly attributed to differences in raw material sources, with downstream purchases limited to small-volume restocking. Cobalt salt prices are expected to remain stable in the coming week.
