On March 25, the price of electrolytic cobalt declined Yuan 1,432/tonne to Yuan 423,500-425,864/tonne from the previous trading day. In addition, the prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride continued to remain flat at Yuan 95,000/t-98,000/t and 115,000-120,000/t respectively.Supported by strong raw material costs, mainstream smelters showed a clear intention to hold prices firm for cobalt sulfate, while downstream manufacturers maintained strong pressure to push prices down. The prevailing transaction price remained around Yuan 93,000/tonne. In addition, the transaction price of cobalt chloride was stable at approximately Yuan 115,000/tonne. Demand from the downstream Co3O4 sector remains relatively stable, but producers are primarily focused on reducing inventories and remain cautious in their procurement.
