On March 26, the price of electrolytic cobalt moved up Yuan 1,182/tonne to Yuan 424,636-427,091/tonne from the previous trading day. Moreover, the prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride continued to remain unchanged at Yuan 95,000/t-98,000/t and 115,000-120,000/t respectively.Supported by strong raw material costs, mainstream cobalt sulfate smelters demonstrated a clear willingness to firm up prices. However, downstream manufacturers showed strong resistance to high prices, with mainstream transaction prices remaining around Yuan 93,000/tonne. As for the cobalt chloride, transaction prices remained stable at approximately Yuan 115,000/tonne. Demand in its downstream Co3O4 sector is relatively stable, but producers are primarily focused on drawing down inventories and remain cautious in their procurement.
