On March 20, the price of electrolytic cobalt decreased Yuan 3,091/tonne to Yuan 426,955-429,864/tonne from the previous trading day. However, the prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride still remained flat at Yuan 95,000/t-98,000/t and 115,000-120,000/t respectively. Supported firmly by raw material costs, mainstream smelters of cobalt sulfate showed a clear intention to hold prices firm. However, downstream manufacturers are strongly inclined to drive prices down. The mainstream transaction price in the market remained around Yuan 94,000/tonne, with a downward trend also emerging.
