On December 5, the price of electrolytic cobalt moved down Yuan 472/tonne to Yuan 410,444-412,556/tonne from the previous trading day. In addition, the price of cobalt sulfate increased Yuan 250/t to Yuan 87,500-93,000/t and that of cobalt chloride remained stable at Yuan 103,000-110,000/tonne. Last Friday, downstream inquiries picked up. However, as old inventory in the market gradually depleted, cobalt sulfate prices steadily increased, with low-priced sources becoming scarce. Quotations for cobalt intermediates remained high, and cobalt salt offers stayed firm, though actual transactions still faced pressure. The underlying logic of tight raw material supply remains unchanged, and the long-term upward momentum for cobalt sulfate persists, with prices expected to stabilize in the near term.
