On December 15, the price of electrolytic cobalt declined Yuan 2,778/tonne to Yuan 406,722-408,278/tonne from the previous trading day. In addition, the prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride moved up Yuan 1,000/t and 2,500/t individually to Yuan 90,000/t-95,000/t and 108,000-112,000/t respectively.Following the earlier high-priced procurement by downstream end-users, the market has returned to be calm. Old low-cost inventory has become scarce, leading to a gradual increase in overall market prices. New cobalt sulfate offers have exceeded Yuan 90,000/t, yet downstream demand appears somewhat subdued. In this condition, raw material supply remains tight, and cobalt sulfate retains underlying upward momentum, though it is expected to maintain stable in the near term.
