On December 23, the price of electrolytic cobalt remained unchanged at Yuan 411,778-413,556/tonne from the previous trading day. At the same time, the prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride were still flat at Yuan 90,000/t-95,000/t and 108,000-114,000/t respectively.Recently, the cobalt sulfate market has shown a pattern of firm prices but shrinking trading volumes. Raw material supply remains tight with high costs, putting significant pressure on smelters and prompting them to maintain firm quotations. On the demand side, downstream players adopted a cautious procurement strategy, currently focusing on drawing down their inventories. Recent transactions for existing stock have mostly been concentrated above Yuan 88,000/tonne, while new stock offers generally stand above Yuan 90,000/tonne. There is a notable price divergence between buyers and sellers, leading to small-volume transactions.
