WEEKLY: China's thermal coal prices snap corrections as fundamentals improve

China's thermal coal market ended its downward trajectory last week (July 6-10), as falling inventories at northern ports and emerging procurements helped brightened the sentiment, supporting sellers with firm pricing attitude.

Mysteel assessed benchmark 5,500 NAR coal at Yuan 802/t ($111/t) FOB northern ports with VAT last Friday, down Yuan 20/t on week but unchanged from Thursday, halting a slide that started June 22. The week opened with the correction at its most aggressive. On July 6, the benchmark tumbled Yuan
