On August 14, the market price of electrolytic cobalt increased Yuan 500/tonne to Yuan 320,364-323,636/tonne. Moreover, the market price of cobalt chloride remained stable at Yuan 87,000-89,000/tonne, while that of cobalt sulfate declined Yuan 1,000/tonne to Yuan 75,000/t-77,000/tonne.Cobalt salt markets continued to operate with off-season weakness last week, with market prices for cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride shifting further downward. However, low-cost supplies from recycled materials and re-dissolved electrolytic cobalt continued to be released into the market, and a few sellers with stronger offering intentions have already cut prices substantially. A few spot transactions were mainly concluded in the range of Yuan 70,00076,000/tonne. Demand-side performance remained sluggish, as downstream ternary precursor producers faced insufficient order books and procurement was confined to small-volume essential needs, with the market lacking support from large-scale transactions.
