On the cobalt salt front, spot transactions for cobalt sulfate were mostly concluded in the range of Yuan 70,00076,000/tonne. Low-cost supplies from recycled materials and re-dissolved electrolytic cobalt kept flowing into the market, and a handful of sellers with stronger selling intentions cut their offers sharply. Downstream ternary precursor producers faced insufficient orders and only made small-volume essential purchases, leaving the market without support from large-scale deals. Cobalt chloride, weighed down by weak demand for Co3O4 and substitution from lower-priced cobalt sulfate, saw transactions grind to a near standstill, with only a few spot trades executed around Yuan 85,000/tonne.On the electrolytic cobalt side, prices continued to decline. The overhang of hidden old inventories and expectations of concentrated arrivals of DRC cobalt intermediates exerted dual downward pressure.
