On September 30, the market price of electrolytic cobalt remained stable at Yuan 260,591-263,091/tonne. At the same time, the market prices of cobalt chloride and both remained unchanged at Yuan 72,000-74,000/tonne and 60,000/t-62,000/tonne respectively.The most prominent feature of the cobalt sulfate market was that producers generally suspended public quotations, with transactions mainly conducted on a case-by-case basis. Most smelters and traders adopted a wait-and-see approach, and indicative transaction prices continued to rise. Sellers' expected selling prices were above Yuan 70,000/t, while buyers faced obvious pressure when making large-volume purchases at around Yuan 70,000/t. Actual transactions were concentrated in the Yuan 69,000-73,000/t range, but the volume of scattered small-lot deals was limited. The supply side of cobalt chloride is relatively concentrated, and spot inventories at small and medium-sized smelters are generally low.
