On October 8, the market price of electrolytic cobalt dropped Yuan 3,000/tonne to Yuan 257,591-260,091/tonne. In addition the market prices of cobalt chloride and both moved down Yuan 2,000/tonne to Yuan 70,000-72,000/tonne and 58,000/t-60,000/tonne respectively.Yesterday, the first trading day after the National Day holiday, the cobalt market remained weak overall, with prices of cobalt chloride and cobalt sulfate both declining and trading thin. Yesterday's market performance was the result of a combination of post-holiday catch-up declines and weak demand. Prices of cobalt intermediates at the feedstock end moved lower, while cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride followed suit. Trading was thin, with downstream players maintaining only need-based purchases and insufficient proactive restocking.On the terminal demand side, ternary precursor and lithium cobalt oxide producers exerted notable downward pressure on spot order prices after the holiday.
