GL Consulting's (premium think tank under Mysteel Group) October 2026 forecast projects gasoline demand to decline by 7.9% in 2026 and 4.1% in 2027, while diesel demand is projected to fall by 8.9% and 3.8%, respectively. Electrification, changing freight patterns and industrial decarbonisation are reshaping fuel consumption, with implications that vary by product, region and customer segment.
