China kicks off pilot scheme on green power trading

On September 7, the first day China launched the pilot scheme for green power e-trading in Beijing and Guangzhou in South China’s Guangdong province, 7.94 billion kWh of power from renewable energy houses were transacted among 259 enterprises from 17 provinces or regions, China’s National Development and Reform Commission shared in a release on September 9.

The first deal of the launching day wasconcluded in Beijing with a green power generator in Ningxia in Northwest China agreeing to supply 1.53 billion kWh of power over five years over 2022-2026to some companies in Shanghai including the high-tech polymer materials producer Covestro, according to a Xinhua News
