Philippines July coal imports down nearly 15% MoM

The Philippines' coal imports declined nearly 15% on month in July but remained above year-earlier levels, as coal continued to play a dominant role in the country's power generation mix.
According to preliminary data released by the Philippine Bureau of Customs (BOC), the country's coal imports reached 3.02 million tonnes in July, up 7.2% on year but down 14.9% from June.     The decline followed a 10.67% on-month increase in June and was mainly attributed to seasonally weaker electricity demand, with
