China’s Apr coking coal imports slump to 3.5 million t

China’s total imports of coking coal fell substantially in April by 29% on month or 44.4% on year to 3.5 million tonnes, according to the country’s General Administration of Customs (GACC) on May 20. The lower volume mainly reflected the slowdown of Mongolian coal exports to China, and China’s restrictions on taking Australian coal in place since last October, Mysteel Global noted.
