Shandong Port Group (SPG) was to continue construction of petroleum tanks, jetties and pipeline, and a series of projects were finished or started construction in 2023.
In Qingdao port, after completion of 32 new projects this year, it will add the throughput capacity of jetty by 35 million tonnes, crude oil storage capacity by 0.8 million cubic meters, and liquefied chemical product storage capacity by 0.27 million cubic meters, according to OilChem.
As of Rizhao Port, there are 37 projects to be continued construction and started in 2023. Upon completion, it will add 100 million tonnes of annual throughput capacity and 1.75 million cubic meters of crude oil storage capacity, according to OilChem.
In addition, SPG has also newly launched the supporting tank farm project for the 0.3 million DWT crude oil jetty (phase III) in Lanshan Port Area of Rizhao Port, and planned to build a 1.75 million cubic meters of storage area and supporting facilities. Upon completion, the storage capacity of the port area will reach nearly 9 million cubic meters, better matching the operating capacity of the four 0.3 million DWT crude oil jetties in the Lanshan port area, according to OilChem.
With regard to Yantai Port, 26 new projects will be started in 2023. After completion, it will bring 43.12 million tonnes of annual throughput capacity for jetty, 4.67 million cubic meters of crude oil storage capacity, and 20 million tonnes of annual oil transmission capacity for long-distance crude oil pipelines, learned from OilChem.
Moreover, after the construction of the crude oil pipeline project from original Yantai Port West Port Area to Longkou Yulong Island, the 3 million cubic meters of crude oil tank farm project in West Port Area and the supporting tank farm project for crude oil jetty in West Port Area, the crude oil transfer and storage needs of refining and chemical enterprises will be effectively met.
Yantai Port West Port Area's crude oil jetty (Phase II), undertaken by Rizhao Branch of Shandong Port Harbor Construction Group, has successfully passed the quality inspection and handover acceptance, with a specific design handling capacity of 16 million tonnes, according to market information. After the project is put into operation, Yantai Port West Port Area will have two 0.3 million DWT crude oil jetties, which will not only optimize the crude oil logistics system, but also further enhance the supply, transportation and support capabilities.
