Shangdong Bocon International Port, a subsidiary of Wanda Group, will complete construction of two 0.1 million DWT liquid bulk cargo berths at Dongying port of Shandong Province this month, and might put them into operation in June, according to port news.
The project, with a total investment of 1.008 billion yuan, will build 1# and 2# liquid bulk cargo berths with a shoreline length of 636 meters. These two berths are mainly used to berth 0.1 million DWT oil tanker, as well as 0.02-0.08 million DWT oil tanker and 0.02-0.05 million DWT chemical tanker. The designed annual throughput is 9.8 million tonnes, and the main products involved include crude oil, fuel oil, naphtha, toluene, xylene, etc, the public information showed.
After completion, Dongying port will effectively upgrade the level of her jetties, and completely change the current pattern of few large jetties, low efficiency, and single function. Meanwhile, it will meet the growing freight demand of the hinterland economy, and play a vital role in supporting the construction of high-end petrochemical industry base in northern Shandong.
