According to Mysteel survey, Indonesia's NPI production stood at 128,300 tonnes (in metal content, the same below unless otherwise stated) in October, rising 9.18% month on month (MoM) and 26.3% year on year (YoY).
Mysteel survey sample covers 48 hydrometallurgy-based nickel smelting projects in Indonesia, which engages 216 BF/EF/RKEF production lines in operation as of October 31, 2023, with 1 newly coming on stream in the month.
In addition, China's NPI production was 31,700 t in October, down 0.89% MoM and 5.77% YoY, per Mysteel survey.

Indonesia's high-grade nickel matte production reported 18,000 t in October, down 19.7% from September, and 7.45% from last year, based on Mysteel survey of 4 sample companies. The production totaled 208,800 t over January-October, an increase of 44.37% from 2022.
The production is estimated at 18,800 t in November, rising 4.22% MoM but down 12.19% YoY.
The MHP production was 17,900 t in Indonesia in October, falling 3.27% from September, but rising 79.98% YoY, according to Mysteel survey of 4 sample companies. The production totaled 142,500 t over January-October, up 82.78% from 2022.
The production is projected to be 18,800 t in November, up 5.31% MoM and 92.56% YoY.
