According to four sample smelters located in Indonesia surveyed by Mysteel, Indonesia's high-grade nickel matte production in August 2023 was 21,500 tonnes, a 7.6% decrease MoM, but a 3.3% increase YoY. The year-to-date production recorded 167,600 tonnes, a cumulative 57.9% increase YoY. It is estimated the Indonesia's high-grade nickel matte production will be 22,300 tonnes in September, a 3.6% and 17% increase MoM and YoY respectively.
