China's thermal coal supply recovering after CNY disruptions

Supplies of thermal coal in China are on course to recover, now that most mines have resumed operations after halting for the Chinese New Year (CNY) holidays, Mysteel Global has found.

Mysteel's monitoring data from 462 thermal coal mines across the country showed that as of February 22, the average capacity utilization rate of these mines had risen to 83.7%, up from 72.3% a week earlier. The medium- and large-sized mines that Mysteel monitors logged relatively higher capacity utilization rates at
