On March 5th, LG Chem showcased its first mass-produced "LG Precursor Free" cathode material at InterBattery 2025 in Seoul, South Korea. Compared to traditional processes, the precursor free technology eliminates the need for precursor preparation steps by directly sintering custom designed metals, reducing production costs and environmental impact, industrial wastewater and carbon emissions, and improving the performance of LFP batteries, especially in low-temperature environments. It's going to start mass producing LPF cathode materials in the first half of 2025.
