UPDATE: EU imposes provisional AD duties on hot-rolled flats from Japan, Vietnam and Egypt

The European Commission on April 7 decided to impose provisional anti-dumping (AD) duties on imports of certain hot-rolled flat steel products originating from Japan, Vietnam, and Egypt. The duties will enter into force the day following its publication and will remain in effect for six months, according to a latest release from Official Journal of the European Union (EU).

The results followed the EU's AD probe launched in early August 2024 on these targeted imports from Japan, Vietnam, Egypt and India, as Mysteel Global reported. Notably, India has been exempted from the provisional AD duties as the EC investigation found that no dumping had taken place, according to the EC release. Specifically, the involved
