China targets over 5% rise in gold and silver output by 2027

China aims to increase its national gold resources by 5-10% and boost gold and silver output by over 5% by 2027, according to the Implementation Plan for High-quality Development of the Gold Industry (2025-2027), jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and eight other ministries on June 23.
The country also targets that by 2027, gold mines with a daily processing capacity of over 500 tonnes will contribute more than 70% of the country's total gold output, and the comprehensive utilization rate of solid waste from gold mining will exceed 35%, according to the plan.   Positioning gold as
