China discovers 1st thousand-tonne-level gold deposit

China has discovered its first thousand-tonne, low-grade super-large gold deposit -- the Dadonggou Gold Mine -- in Northeast China’s Liaoning province, the Ministry of Natural Resources announced on November 14.
The newly confirmed deposit contains 2.586 billion tonnes of gold ore with an average grade of 0.56 grams/tonne and holds 1,444.49 tonnes of gold resources in total, the ministry said.   The Dadonggou Gold Mine is reportedly "another super-large low-grade open-pit gold mine discovered in China, marking a breakthrough in the country's
