CGA: China's gold output, consumption slide in H1

China's production and consumption of gold declined on year during January-June, falling by 0.31% and 3.54% respectively to 179.1 tonnes and 505.2 tonnes, according to the latest release issued by China Gold Association (CGA).
Within the total output, gold extracted from domestically-mined minerals and as a by-product of nonferrous smelting reached 139.4 tonnes and 39.7 tonnes respectively, the CGA data showed.   Despite rising profit margins brought by surging gold prices in a feverish market atmosphere, this year's first half saw no marked increase in China's gold
