Jan-July coal output from Russia's Kuzbass slides 7% YoY

Cumulative production of all types of coal in Russia's Kuzbass Basin, the country's major coal producing region, totalled 110.3 million tonnes over January-July, down 7.4% from the first seven months of the previous year, the latest data from the Ministry of Coal Industry of Kuzbass showed. The pace of the decline quickened slightly from the 6.1% recorded during the January-June period.

In July alone, Kuzbass produced 13.8 million tonnes of coal, also down by the same 6.1% from June's 14.7 million tonnes and hitting a new low since November last year. Compared with last year, the volume declined by a larger 10.4%, Mysteel Global calculated based on the ministry's data. As
