Mongolian coal miner SouthGobi reports jumped sales in Q3

SouthGobi Resources, the Mongolia-focused coal miner listed in Hong Kong and Toronto, reported a robust on-year increase in third-quarter coal sales, though profits fell sharply due to weaker selling prices and rising costs, according to its quarterly report issued on November 14.
The company sold 3.04 million tonnes of coal in the third quarter, jumping 44.1% from the 2.11 million tonnes sold in the same period of 2024, the report showed.   By type, sales of premium semi-soft coking coal stood at 300,000 tonnes in the reporting period, threefold the volume in Q3
