At 8:28 a.m. local time on December 13, the installation ceremony of the first autoclave was held at the KNI high-pressure acid leach (HPAL) hydrometallurgical project site within Huayou's Indonesia Pomalaa Industrial Park (IPIP). The project is jointly invested by Huayou, Vale, and Ford Motor Company.
As the core equipment of the hydrometallurgical system, the autoclave is large in size and technically demanding. A single unit at the KNI project weighs over 1,100 metric tonnes. From port arrival and transportation to installation, every stage was closely coordinated, demonstrating efficient multi-party collaboration and determined progress throughout the project's construction.
Representatives from IPIP and KNI management, partners, and construction parties jointly witnessed this important milestone at the ceremony.
Ning Jiancheng, CEO of IPIP, stated that as the park operator, ensuring the smooth construction and timely commissioning of key projects within the park is a key responsibility of IPIP. They will work with park enterprises to advance the development of Huayou's first overseas industrial park, striving to build an internationally competitive industrial zone that serves as a model in environmental protection, technological innovation, and ESG governance.
Muhammad Asril, Chief Project Officer of Vale Indonesia, remarked that this collaboration integrates resource advantages, global operational standards, sustainable development principles, and advanced engineering and metallurgical technology. By complementing each other's strengths and working in synergy, they will jointly advance the construction of a world-class HPAL project, laying a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the industry.
Shao Weisheng, Deputy General Manager of KNI, noted that the successful installation of the autoclave, as the core equipment of the smelting system, marks a critical breakthrough in the project's progress. It not only reflects the hard work and expertise of all parties involved but also signifies a solid step toward achieving the project's objectives.
With the continuous advancement of key projects in the park, IPIP is steadily enhancing its industrial support capabilities and overall infrastructure, moving steadily toward its goal of becoming a modern, safe, efficient, and internationally competitive industrial park.
