In Glencore's recently released fourth-quarter production report, nickel production totaled 33,900 tonnes in nickel content (including third-party feedstock), representing a decrease of 5.83% quarter-on-quarter and 0.59% year-on-year. This includes 26,300 tonnes of nickel plate and 7,600 tonnes of nickel powder. The ferronickel project in New Caledonia remained under maintenance, with no production recorded.
Excluding the 5,000 tonnes of production from the Koniambo project (which is currently in care and maintenance), the company's nickel production from own sources amounted to 71,900 tonnes, a decrease of 5,400 tonnes (or 7%) compared to 2024. This was mainly driven by lower output from both the Integrated Nickel Operations (INO) and the Murrin Murrin operations.
Additionally, Glencore has provided a nickel metal production guidance of 70,000–80,000 tonnes for 2026.
