NEA: China's power consumption rises 3.5% YoY in March

China's electricity consumption reached 859.5 billion kWh in March, up 3.5% year on year, according to data released by the National Energy Administration on April 20.

The growth rate marked a noticeable slowdown from the 6.1% increase recorded in January–February and was also below the 4.8% rise seen in March 2025. Analysts attributed the moderation partly to the later timing of the Chinese New Year holiday this year, which delayed the resumption of industrial activity. The
